|
A major reason which is
obvious is that there is simply no post-training
follow-ups
done by the management. Often people are left on their own to apply what
they have learned back on the job. Left unchecked, most people would
simply revert to their old behaviours and habits once they returned from
training.
The other reason is in the
training itself - most training sessions were designed without the real
needs being properly addressed - trainers just give very
general inputs - stuff which they FEEL and THINK
are needed by the participants coming to the program...
Too bad isn't it...?
|
But wait! This can be
overcome - CUSTOMISE the training design according to ACTUAL
NEEDS and DELIVER the training with the adult learners in mind!
Through
training, members of the staff will get the opportunity to acquire new
KNOWLEDGE, enhance their SKILLS and modify their ATTITUDES towards
achieving a higher level of
efficiency
("doing the right things")
and
effectiveness
("doing things right")
which will
ultimately
contribute to the attainment
of the organisation's objectives.
|
However,
training activities will not be beneficial if they do not meet the
ACTUAL requirements of the organisation and the individual functional
needs of the staff member.
Therefore, a
proper analysis of the training
NEEDS must be carried out before any training programme is
conducted...
